Spotplanner

Privacy policy

Last updated 12 October 2026. Applies to the Spotplanner app for iPhone, Android and the web at spotplanner.eu.

The short version

Spotplanner does not have accounts and does not collect personal data. Everything you create in the app — your trips, your notes, the photos you add, the countries you pin, your name and home country — is stored on your device only. We do not see it, and we do not sell or share anything, because we have nothing to share.

What stays on your device

Deleting the app deletes all of it. On the web, clearing the browser's site data does the same.

What the app requests from the internet

To show content, the app downloads public files. These requests carry your IP address and the name of the file, like any web page you open; no account, name or trip data is attached.

Apple Maps and Google Maps on the phone are provided by the operating system under Apple's and Google's privacy policies.

Location

If you tap "Share my location" on the suggestion screen, the app reads your position once to show how far each spot is. It is used on the device only and never sent anywhere. You can decline, and the app works without it.

Photos

Photos you add are copied into the app's own folder on your device. They are used only inside the app, in the pictures and videos you choose to share yourself.

Sharing

Pictures, videos and text you share go through your device's share sheet to the app you pick (Instagram, Messages, …). Spotplanner does not post anything on your behalf and does not receive what you share.

What we do not do

Children

The app is rated for everyone and collects no data from anyone, including children.

When accounts arrive

A future version will offer an optional account to sync trips between devices. That version will update this policy before anything leaves your device, and the app will keep working without an account.
